On Thursday, Dec. 9, the Winter Park Public Library will celebrate its 125th birthday by inviting the public to the library to enjoy a slice of free birthday cake and to sign our birthday book from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Library Community Room, 460 E. New England Ave. Visit www.wppl.org

The Thursday, Dec. 9 Central Florida Anthropological Society meeting features Zach Zacharias, senior curator of education at the Daytona Beach Museum of Arts and Sciences. At 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 15 is the University Club of Winter Park’s Classical Music presentation by noted Central Florida oboist Aaron Hilbun. Dr. Hilbun is a distinguished soloist, chamber musician and orchestra player on four continents. The Club is on the corner of Webster and Park avenues in Winter Park.

American Association of Individual Investors, Central Florida Chapter, will hold its next meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15 at the University Club of Winter Park, 841 N. Santa is visiting Brio Tuscan Grille in Winter Park for breakfast from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11 to hear Christmas wishes. Brio has planned a morning full of fun and holiday cheer for guests with a coloring contest, a goodie bag for each child and the chance to win an iPod. Brio is also a drop-off location for Toys for Tots.

Enzian will host a children’s Christmas event featuring an afternoon of crafts, cookies and the fun family movie “Letters to Santa: Cookies and a Movie” from noon-2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12. For more information, visit Enzian.org

As part of the Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center’s Stand Up to Bullying campaign, it will be hosting John Halligan, whose 13-year-old son, Ryan, committed suicide after years of being bullied. Ryan Halligan’s story will be shared in 10 schools and at these community venues at 7 p.m.: Wednesday, Dec. 15 at Saints Peter and Paul in Winter Park and Dec. 16 at Lake Highland Prep Middle School.

-Wednesday, Dec. 8 at 4 p.m. is Culture Club – Music, stories, food and crafts from Scandinavia.

-Saturday, Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. is Second Saturday – Winter Wonderland, which includes crafts, stories, games and real snow. There will also be a special appearance by Santa Claus.

-Saturday, Dec. 18 at 2 p.m. is Nightmare before Christmas, a presentation based on the hit movie.
