LENTEN FISH FRY

4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 23, in the Parish Hall of Resurrection Catholic Church, 1211 Winter Garden Vineland Road, Winter Garden. Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. SATURDAY, MARCH 24

CELEBRATION AMONG THE OAKS

11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at the Town Meeting Hall, 221 N. Arrington St., Oakland. Families can enjoy visits with the Easter Bunny from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., with the Easter egg hunt at noon. EVENING AT THE POPS

4:30 p.m. petting zoo, 6:30 p.m. concert Saturday, March 24, at Newton Park, 29 W. Garden Ave., Winter Garden. Sit under the stars and enjoy the Orlando Philharmonic Symphony. DALI & DUCHAMP

Noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at the Winter Garden Art Association's SoBo Gallery, 127 S. Boyd St., Winter Garden. Marcel Duchamp and Salvador Dali shared the titles of “genius” and “madman” because of their striking and shocking approaches to art. Both artists worked to change how people view and interpret art but went about it in different ways. Session 3 of this lecture series discusses the relationship between Dali and Duchamp, as well as Surrealism and Dadaism and their effects on Modern Art. SOUTHWEST BOOK CLUB

The Pulitzer Prize-winning author presents a riotous exploration of the Sunshine State that challenges negative stereotypes and offers insights into Florida's roles as a venue of history and fun. “THE WAY OF THE CROSS”

WINTER GARDEN LIONS CLUB EASTER EGG HUNT

10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 31, at Newton Park, 29 W. Garden Ave., Winter Garden. Join the Winter Garden Lions Club for its annual Easter Egg Hunt. Children are divided by age; those who find the golden egg will receive the grand prize for that age group. Winter Garden's police and fire departments will be present, and local churches will have arts and crafts for children. There will be a raffle for an Easter basket. The Lions Club will be collecting used eyeglasses, eyeglass cases and hearing aids. (407) 656-4155.

 

OCOEE EASTER EGGSTRAVAGANZA

10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 31, at the Jim Beech Recreation Center, 1820 A.D. Mims Road. More than 10,000 candy-filled eggs will decorate the lawn as children scurry to collect the treats. Admission is free. Children 12 and younger can also enjoy fun activities from 10 a.m. to noon, including photos with the Easter Bunny, inflatables, face painting and snacks for purchase. INTRO TO SOLAR POWER USING SNAP CIRCUITS

MONDAY, APRIL 2

WGHF HELICOPTER GOLF BALL DROP

Noon Monday, April 2, at the West Orange Country Club, 3300 West Orange Country Club Drive, Winter Garden. One thousand numbered golf balls will be dropped from a helicopter hovering over a makeshift hole on the driving range. The first purchased ball in the hole, or closest to the hole, wins $1,000. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20 and are available at the Winter Garden Heritage Foundation. (407) 656-3244.

COMEDY MAKS' VARIETY SHOW
