Commission holds public hearing on North Ocoee development

City leaders will take action three ordinances related to the CLRM Planned Unit Development.

A Northeast Ocoee development project will be up for discussion during the Nov. 5 city commission meeting.

City leaders will take action on the second reading of three ordinances related to the CLRM Planned Unit Development. The ordinances are related to annexation and rezoning of the property as well as a large-scale comprehensive plan amendment to change the future land-use designation of the property.

The subject property is generally located south of East McCormick Road and west of North Apopka Vineland Road. The property totals 212.3 acres, but only 193.22 acres is proposed to be annexed into the city. The proposed comprehensive plan amendment is to change the land-use designation of the property from Orange County rural settlement 1/5 to City of Ocoee low-density residential, and the proposed rezoning is to rezone the property from Orange County Agricultural to City of Ocoee Planned Unit Development.

Plans for the CLRM PUD project proposes the development of 381 dwelling units with 68.68 acres of open space, according to city documents.
