Plans for a mixed-use community in north Ocoee will be discussed during the June 18 city commission meeting.

City leaders will take action on the second reading of a large-scale comprehensive plan amendment, rezoning ordinance and development agreement for the Ocoee Village Center planned unit development.

The subject site of the proposed project is made up of three undeveloped parcels totaling approximately 73.17 acres that are generally located generally located on the north side of Clarcona Ocoee Road east of State Road 429, south of Clarcona Ocoee Road, and east of North Lakewood Avenue and east of the intersection of Fullers Cross Road and North Lakewood Avenue. Plans for the subject site proposes for the development of up to 150,000 square feet of commercial, 196 townhome units and 316 apartment units.

Commissioners are considering the approval of comprehensive plan amendment that would change the land-use designation of the subject site from low-density residential to high-density residential. City leaders also will consider rezoning the property from the subject site from R-1A single-family dwelling to planned unit development (PUD).
