Winter Park ranks third on 10 best places in Florida

The Movoto Blog ranked 100 of the most populated Florida cities and towns on factors such as total amenities, quality of life, crime and weather. Winter Park came in third on the top 10 Best Places in Florida list. Coral Springs ranked in first place.

VOA completes design for Winter Park’s First GREEN Bank

The Orlando office of VOA Associates recently completed architecture, interior, and sustainable design for the Winter Park branch of First GREEN Bank. The new 6,360-square-foot NetZero building, located on North Orlando Avenue, encourages green efforts through financial principals that reward sustainable practices.

Local students named to Spring 2014 Dean's List at Wake Forest

Sara Cooper and Samantha Mintzer of Winter Park represented their hometown well as they were named to the Spring 2014 Dean's List at Wake Forest University. Founded in 1834, the school is located in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Central Florida YMCA announces Winter Parker as Board Chair

The YMCA of Central Florida announces Charlie Egerton, founding shareholder at the law firm of Dean, Mead, Egerton, Bloodworth, Capuano, & Bozarth PA, as the new Chair of the YMCA Metropolitan Board. Involved with the YMCA for more than 30 years, Egerton recently lead its $3.2 million annual support campaign. He previously served as Board Chair and Scholarship Chair of the Downtown YMCA.

United Arts welcomes new Board of Directors

United Arts of Central Florida is pleased to welcome community and philanthropic leaders to the Board of Directors — Brycee L. West, Jim MacPhee, David Blanc, Judith Duda, Beverly Marshall-Luney, Dr. E. Ann McGee and Richard Sandler. They join a committed board led by chairwoman Linda Landman Gonzalez, the Orlando Magic’s vice president of philanthropy and multi-cultural initiatives.
