Big names coming to Rollins this season

Top scholars

The following students received degrees from Emory University in Atlanta this spring. Adam Hardaway of Maitland received a Doctor of Law degree. Tarik Madni and Michael McHenry of Maitland received Bachelor of Arts degrees. Alissa Tabirian of Winter Park also received a Bachelor of Arts degree, and Brian Taussig of Winter Park received a master’s degree in business administration.

Eva Hinkeldey of Maitland, has been placed on the Deans' Commendation List of Gettysburg College for the spring 2013 semester.

Big names headline at Rollins

Celebrating its fifth year of bringing world-renowned intellectuals to the Central Florida community, Rollins College’s Winter Park Institute announces its 2013 fall season. This fall’s headliners include astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson; Nobel Peace Prize winner Elie Wiesel; peace activist Arun Gandhi; and former U.S. Poet Laureate Billy Collins.

Building leaders

Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business in July announced that Michael Yates has joined the school as business development manager with the Management and Executive Education Center. He will provide expert advice in the areas of leadership development, management skill building and executive coaching.

$25,000 for theater

Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF received a $25,000 grant to participate in the 2013-2014 Shakespeare in American Communities: Shakespeare for a New Generation program. The Theater is among 40 nonprofit, professional theater companies selected for the program by Arts Midwest in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
