Playground renovations under way

Renovated playground

The Roth Jewish Community Center of Greater Orlando’s Richard S. Adler is embarking on a fundraising campaign to renovate its enclosed courtyard playground. Interior remodeling

Cuhaci & Peterson Architects, based in Orlando’s Baldwin Park, has been hired to conduct interior remodeling of a multistory headquarters for New Tribes Mission located at 1000 E. First St. in Sanford.

Golf outing

The Pavilion Golf Society shot a hole in one for the elderly community with a successful inaugural golf outing on Sunday, June 2, raising $16,000 for the Jewish Pavilion.

New dean

Rollins College recently appointed Associate Professor of Education Debra Wellman as the dean of the College of Professional Studies, which offers bachelor degrees in communication, education and international business.

Proud grads

Rachel Shepard of Maitland graduated from Rice University on May 11.

Cadet Justin Alexandre Raab, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andre Raab of Longwood, graduated from the U.S. Military Academy on Saturday, May 25.

Nonprofit partners with OCPS

Jewish Family Services Orlando, the Winter Park-based nonprofit, human service agency, is pleased to announce its partnership with Orange County Public Schools in providing its Kids Konnect Family Circle program to students and their families beginning in August.

Nonprofit reaches 40 years

The Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation celebrates a milestone this month – its 40th anniversary. Throughout the last four decades, the Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation has awarded more than 3,165 grants to 790 nonprofit organizations totaling more than $100 million in funding.

Sewer rehab

On Monday, July 8, the city of Winter Park will begin a sewer rehab project at the intersection of Lakemont and Mizell avenues near Winter Park Memorial Hospital, A Florida Hospital. The intersection will be closed and signs will indicate detour routes. This project is scheduled to be complete by Monday, July 22, weather permitting.
