Rollins awards Martin Bell Scholarship

The Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business has announced Julie Colombino as the recipient of its 2016 Martin Bell Scholarship. Now in its 28th year, the annual scholarship awards a leader in the nonprofit sector with full tuition for Crummer’s Executive MBA program. Colombino is the founder and CEO of REBUILD globally, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting poverty through education and job training in Haiti, a nation still recovering from a catastrophic earthquake that hit in 2010. Colombino’s Executive MBA studies will begin at Crummer in August 2016.

Youth sports franchise to open in Winter Park

i9 Sports, the nation’s first and largest youth sports league franchise, recently announced it will be opening a location in Winter Park. i9 Sports has set itself apart as an industry pace-setter by creating a youth sports experience unlike any other, which has enabled the brand to operate more than 4,100 youth sports programs in 780 communities across the United States. The company has also established itself as a leader in concussion awareness in youth sports, offering programs in flag football as opposed to tackle, and reported a 12-percent increase in flag football participation in 2015. The Winter Park property has been purchased by Scott Goodmon, who previously served as the vice president of sales and store operations for Finish Line.
