Winter Park Playhouse joins prestigious group

The Winter Park Playhouse has stepped into the national spotlight as it receives membership in the prestigious National Alliance for Musical Theatre. This organization, of which the playhouse is now a member, is the premiere association of its kind with members in 34 states and abroad. Members are considered the leading producers of professional musical theatre in the world. Receiving membership in such an historic, nationally acclaimed organization puts The Winter Park Playhouse in well recognized company alongside Goodspeed Musicals (Conn.), Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, Theatre Under the Stars (Houston), MUNY (St. Louis), The Public Theatre (N.Y.) and Walnut Street Theatre (Philadelphia) among others.

Winter Park High School alum receives award

Katie Cloud, a 2004 graduate of Winter Park High School, recently received a national advising award from Mortar Board, the premier national honor society for college seniors. Katie is currently an athletic eligibility officer in the Office of the Registrar at Florida State University. She serves as advisor to the Torchbearer chapter of Mortar Board, for which she was honored with an Excellence in Advising Award at the Mortar Board National Conference, held last month in Phoenix.
