The Magic Fan Van event was held at Winter Park Memorial Hospital on April 18. Hospital employees got to take a break from their hectic work days and get in on the basketball fun!

The American Institute of Architects - Orlando Chapter - honored father and son James Gamble Rogers II, FAIA, and John H. Rogers, FAIA, of RLF, a Winter Park-based architecture, engineering and interior design firm, during its 2011 Awards for Design Excellence Presentation and Gala held on April 9 at the Country Club of Orlando.

On Wednesday, April 20, the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce hosted the 26th annual Taste of Winter Park presented by CenturyLink, the organization’s annual food festival. Here are the winners: 4 Rivers Smokehouse was honored with Best Main Course for Chef John Rivers’ Six Shooter Shots. Best Side Dish was presented to The Ravenous Pig for Chef James Petrakis’ unique offering of Smoked Florida Cobia with Watermelon and Radish Relish. Best Dessert was awarded to LUMA on Park for Chef Brandon McGlamery’s Strawberry Milkshake with Hazelnut Crumble and Basil Meringue. Finally, Best Booth Display went to Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt of Winter Park, a first-time participant at the event.

The 25th Anniversary Celebration of Winter Park High School International Baccalaureate Programme is Saturday, May 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Main Campus – Auditorium. The Winter Park Chamber of Commerce named Saundra Hester, Rollins Alumni Association Travel Program Ambassador, “Ambassador of the Year”.

Musgrave Building & Restorations ranked No. 2 among Central Florida’s largest remodeling companies and No. 13 among the area’s largest custom home builders, according to the Orlando Business Journal’s recently published 2011 Book of Lists, which ranked all of Central Florida’s major industries by company revenues.

Mattamy Homes U.S. Group, the U.S. division of Canada’s largest homebuilder, recently acquired 56 single-family home sites at Waterford Creek, located off U.S. 50 at Hancock Lone Palm Road in East Orlando.

Fueled by four sales that fetched a total of $14.453 million in the first week of February, Fannie Hillman + Associates finished the first quarter of 2011 with 78 closings for nearly $37.2 million. Although first quarter transactions were one less than a comparable period in 2010, sales volume was up a robust 56 percent over last year’s first quarter thanks to an average sale of $476,826.
