The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art has began installation of the famous Daffodil Terrace from Louis Comfort Tiffany's Long Island country estate, Laurelton Hall. Although the terrace will not be accessible to visitors until the museum opens its new galleries early next year, the public can watch the installation via live video feed on the Morse website (www.morsemuseum.org). The terrace installation should be completed by July 15.

Four large steel bike racks behind the Audubon Park Garden District office building, awaiting installation at area businesses, were stolen last month. The recycled bike racks had been procured with grant money from the city of Orlando and from a series of bake sales. The Orlando Science Center made a major move toward becoming a "green" organization with the recent installation of a new energy-efficient HVAC system and the addition of a solar panel system and a roof replacement. This event announces the completion of the organization's first steps towards attaining the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for its facility.

The Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens has postponed its much anticipated sculpture exhibition, Figure and Form: In the Tradition of Polasek, originally scheduled to open in September 2010, until July 19, 2011.

United Arts celebrated the completion of a successful private sector fundraising campaign at its Annual Meeting on Thursday, June 17, at the Orlando Museum of Art. In collaboration with 16 of the region's cornerstone cultural institutions, United Arts achieved 103 percent of its campaign 2010 private sector goal. Overall private sector funding has fallen 23 percent in the last two years. Funds support arts and culture in Lake, Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties.

Cotter Ryan Commercial, LLC has started construction on the renovation of the Aloma Cinema Grill and Draft House, located in the Publix Shopping Center on Aloma Avenue and Lakemont in Winter Park. Work will include adding a third theater to the Aloma Cinema Grill, which will expand the facility by 3,500 square feet. Once the $125,000 project completed the Aloma Cinema Grill and Draft House will seat 195 patrons.

The Central Florida office of SIKON Construction, Maitland, announced the company has been awarded new contracts totaling over $8 million for renovation upgrades at seven Winn-Dixie stores in South Florida.
