Deputies respond to shots-fired call in Windermere

After receiving reports of shots fired in the Windermere area this afternoon near Keene's Pointe and County Road 535, Orange County Sheriff's Office deputies discovered a nearby resident has constructed a personal shooting range at his home.

According to Sheriff's Office reports, workers from Windermere First Baptist Church called 911 after hearing gunshots in the area shortly before 1 p.m. When deputies arrived on the scene and canvassed the area, they discovered a personal shooting range at a residence in the area. The homeowner confirmed to deputies he was target-practicing.

The call is in the process of being cleared.
