DR. PHILLIPS  West Orange-area children will be able to get out and have some fun in the sun Saturday, April 30 for the YMCA Central Florida’s Healthy Kids Day.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Dr. P. Phillips YMCA, kids can participate in a variety of games, contests and family boot camp, yoga, racquetball and Zumba classes. The YMCA is also offering face painting, a balloon artist, sand art, obstacle courses and other activities.

The whole family can also watch cooking demonstrations, indulge in chair massages, meet golf pros, learn about YMCA programs and more.

According to the YMCA website, nearly one in three Florida children are overweight or obese, so the free community event seeks to help combat that statistic by getting children and their families together to stay active and enjoy outdoor activities to kickstart a healthier summer.
