Driver critically injured in collision on State Road 429 in Winter Garden

A driver of a northbound sedan lost control, traveled through the grass median and collided head-on with a semi-truck traveling southbound on S.R. 429.

One driver suffered critical injuries in an early-afternoon crash Thursday, March 24, on State Road 429 in Winter Garden.

According to FHP reports, the crash occurred at 12:20 p.m. at Mile Marker 19. A driver of a northbound sedan lost control, traveled through the grass median and collided head-on with a semi-truck traveling southbound on S.R. 429.

After the initial collision, the engine dislodged from the sedan and struck a northbound SUV. The semi-truck struck the guardrail.

The driver of the semi-truck and SUV were not injured. The driver of the sedan was transported, with critical injuries.
