Audubon Park Elementary

Audubon Park Elementary will host its first Walk and Roll event on Wednesday, Oct. 7. This is a very special day as it is National Walk and Bike to School Day! All families are encouraged to walk, ride their bikes, roller blades or scooters to school that day and plan to participate in other Walk and Roll events throughout the year. Glenridge Middle School

The foreign language teachers at Glenridge Middle are planning for its second annual Hispanic Heritage Festival and they need your help. The teachers are looking for dance and musical performers, guest speakers, and any other support that would help students gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for Hispanic heritage. The event is Oct. 14. If you would like to donate your time to the festival, please contact Nicole Deuter, the IB coordinator, at [email protected]

Winter Park High School

Homecoming is about more than just a dance, it’s a time to celebrate all things Wildcat! The annual free Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally for Winter Park High School will make its way down Park Avenue in Winter Park beginning at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14. The pep rally at the main stage in Central Park begins at 6 p.m. Come on out to show support for the Winter Park High School students, faculty and alumni. Later that week, come out to see the Wildcats battle University High School on the gridiron as the homecoming game kickoff at Showalter Field on Friday, Oct. 16.

Audubon Park Elementary

Break out your stilettos and fill up your steins, the Audubon Park Elementary PTA is pleased to announce an Oktoberfest-themed fundraiser coming up on Oct. 17. The Social Shindig: Stilettos & Steins will be held from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at the Winter Park Community Center, located 721 W. New England Ave. An Oktoberfest-themed silent auction will raise funds for the school community. You can leave your lederhosen at home, but you’re welcome to pair your stilettos with casual cocktail attire. For more information or to register, visit audubonparkpta.org.

The Audubon Park Elementary Character Parade will be Friday, Oct. 30, beginning at 9:15 a.m. at the school. Students will dress as the storybook characters in the books they are studying in their classrooms. Come and enjoy this annual event as it winds through Corrine Commons before returning to the school!
