Winter Park’s Summer Camp Resident Registration Fair is 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 14, at the Winter Park Community Center Ruby Ball Amphitheater, 721 W. APRIL 20

“Park Maitland Perspectives” opens on Friday, April 20, at the Maitland Art Center with a free reception that evening from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibit features the works of the skillful sixth-grade Park Maitland School students instructed by arts educator Sandy Bonus.

APRIL 21

The Maitland Public Library will be hosting a 5k/run event on April 21 at Quinn Strong Park. Registration opens at 7 a.m. and the race starts at 8 a.m. There is a kids run at 9 a.m. for kids ages 10 and younger. The cost is $25 until April 20 and $30 on the day of the race. There is a special entry fee for anyone 65 and older and 18 and younger at $15. Kids 10 and younger are free. Dress as your favorite literary character. For more information, call 407-647-7700.

The Third Annual Hannibal Square Heritage Center Folk Art and Traditional Craft Festival is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 21, at the Center, located at 642 New England Ave. in Winter Park. The Center’s Third Annual Folk Art and Traditional Craft Festival will feature work for sale by Florida artists including the original Florida Highwaymen painters and Crealdé ceramicists, as well as live folk music and local soul food. The festival will also feature a “Kid Folk” Storybook Workshop for ages 4 and older. Events and exhibits are free to the public.

The City of Winter Park and Rollins College present “Earth Day in the Park” on Saturday, April 21, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Central Park. Winter Park Mayor Kenneth W. Bradley and Rollins College President Lewis Duncan will address attendees at 11 a.m. from the main stage. The city will also give away an array of 3-gallon containerized trees for city residents to plant at home (proof of city residency will be requested).

The City of Maitland Leisure Services is proud to announce the spring “Movie in the Park” free outdoor movies. Join us on Saturday, April 21, for the critically acclaimed movie “Hugo,” and come back out on Saturday May 12 for The Adventures of Tin Tin. The movies will be presented on a giant 36-foot inflatable screen at Quinn Strong Park, 347 S. Maitland Ave in Maitland. The City of Maitland invites families and kids of all ages to bring your lawn chairs and blankets, relax, and enjoy a free movie under the stars. Movies begin at dark, but come early for pre-movie fun!
