MARCH 1

It’s the sixth annual Fiddler’s Green 5K! Get ready for an outdoor race through Winter Park’s historic Mead Garden starting at 7:30 a.m. on March 1. It’s at 1300 S. Denning Drive in Winter Park. From there, the runners are invited back for a beer and some fun at Fiddler’s Green Irish Pub. Fiddler’s 5K is not a chipped race. The Fiddler’s 5K is stroller friendly. Proceeds from the event will benefit Habitat for Humanity of Winter Park-Maitland and Conductive Education Center of Orlando. Visit fiddsgives.org for more information.

The Maitland Art Center is kicking off 31 days of art with an Artists’ Colony Day featuring open studios with hands-on activities, and an artistic wrapping of the Art Center. It’s from 2 to 6 p.m. March 1 at the Maitland Art Center. Visit artandhistory.org for more information and a calendar of events happening throughout March.

MARCH 2

The 35th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Winter Park will march down Park Avenue starting at 2 p.m. on March 2. It’s a few weeks early, but kicks off two weeks of Irish festivities.

MARCH 4

Get ready. Get set. And go to IHOP restaurants on National Pancake Day, March 4, to enjoy a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes — and help raise money for charity! IHOP restaurants will again serve up free short stacks of its famous buttermilk pancakes on National Pancake Day on Tuesday, March 4. IHOP hopes to raise more than $3 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Shriners Hospitals for Children and other local charities this year. It runs from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. at your local IHOP, with voluntary donations to Children’s Miracle Network encouraged.

MARCH 7

Story Time at Leu Gardens is held the first Monday of each month, excluding holidays. Hundreds of families visit Leu Gardens to participate in Orange County Library Systems’ imaginative and inspiring story time event. The event runs from 10 to 11 a.m. and engages children in songs, rhymes and books for infants through 5 years of age. Best of all, story time at Leu Gardens is free. This month’s event is March 7. MARCH 8

Get your kids active with the Smile Mile, a morning of fun and fitness for all kids age groups at Orlando Fashion Square, 3201 E. Colonial Drive in Orlando. It all starts at 8 a.m. March 8 and runs until after the final 4-year-old runners at 11:30 a.m. Visit trackshack.com for more information.
