West Orange- and Southwest Orange-area teams had varying degrees of success Friday, Sept. 9. Here's what we learned from Week Three of the 2022 season.

FOUNDATION ACADEMY DEFENSE SHUTS DOWN SAINTS
The Lions offense and defense turned the loss from last week into a shutout win against the Trinity Prep Saints, 56-0. Running back J.T. Bronaugh scored three touchdowns and rushed the ball for 190 yards on only six carries. Quarterback Brady Lord went 6-of-8 on passing and 140 yards and three touchdown passes. On the defensive side of the ball, linebacker Will Ford had six tackles and an interception — a huge impact on the team’s win throughout the game. Middle linebacker Sam Zagame had 12 tackles, one interception returned for a touchdown and finished the game with a safety. Kicker Gabe Moraes hit his first 300-yard kicking game on kickoff yardage. 

WINDERMERE PREP OFFENSE IS UNSTOPPABLE
The Lakers defense recorded its second shutout of the year for a 63-0 win against Melbourne Central Catholic. The team scored two special teams touchdowns and one defensive touchdown. On the offensive side of the ball, Emiliano LaGuardia scored four touchdowns — three rushing and a fourth interception returned for a touchdown.

VIPERS RUNNING BACK ACCUMULATES YARDS
On the offensive side of the ball, Lake Buena Vista senior running back Andres Romero rushed the ball for 218 yards with a touchdown. He also had a 60-yard kick return to acquire a total of 278 yards for the night. 

TITANS EARN A CLOSE VICTORY
The Titans' Tyler Cross had three receptions with 40 yards, carried the ball three times for 38 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Juan Gainous went 15-of-27 times on passing for 145 yards and a touchdown, and Josh Evans had five receptions with 75 yards and a touchdown. On the defensive side of the ball, Joey Evans had eight tackles (three TFL), Karma James had six tackles (one TFL) and a sack, and Jalon Thompson had three tackles, one interception and three pass break-ups. 

KNIGHTS DISPLAY STRONG DEFENSE
The Knights had their first shutout game of the season after defeating Evans High School 27-0. On the defensive side of the ball, the team accumulated a total of 35 tackles, 28 solo tackles and seven assisted tackles.
