A ban has been placed on all on-premises consumption of food and alcohol at restaurants throughout Florida.

Gov. Ron DeSantis issued an executive order on Friday, March 20, banning all Florida restaurants from serving food or alcohol on premises. The order also requires all gymnasiums and fitness centers in the state to close as well.

While the executive order bans dining in at restaurants in the state, eateries are allowed to stay open to fulfill take-out and delivery orders. Additionally, restaurants will now be allowed to offer alcohol as part of delivery or take-out orders. Customers with an I.D. can now order alcohol from restaurants for pick-up or delivery. The order lifts a restriction that prohibits restaurants from including alcohol for delivery or take-out.
