The college football season is set to get rolling tonight with a full slate of games — including one game featuring a pair of local brothers taking the field as teammates in college for the first time.

Denzel Irvin, No. 25, pumps up teammates ahead of the Charlotte 49ers spring football game.Foundation Academy alumni Denzel and Darius Irvin, of Winter Garden, are both members of the Charlotte 49ers' defense and each hope to see some action when the 49ers take on the No. 19 Louisville Cardinals on the road. That contest is scheduled to kickoff at 7 p.m. and will broadcast live on ESPN3, ACC Network and Fox Sports South.

Denzel Irvin, a redshirt sophomore defensive back, saw the field in 11 games in 2015.

Darius Irvin, a redshirt freshman linebacker, will be suiting up for a game for the first time.

The 49ers are in their second season in Conference USA and their first season as bowl-eligible members of the FBS.
