A GoFundMe account has been set up to help with the funeral expenses of a West Orange High School student, Alex Chandra, who died this week. Alex’s brother, Hemraj Chandra, organized the fundraiser, which has a goal of $25,000.

“Alex was a fire to gasoline; he’d brighten up anybody’s day,” Hemraj Chandra wrote. “He was that type of guy to make everyone smile/laugh while carrying 10 tons of his own despair and sadness in his head.”

The school’s PTSO posted an announcement on Facebook with the phone number of a crisis hotline:

“Everyone should have received the call about the death of a West Orange High School student. We are sad about his passing, thinking about his family, friends and the entire West Orange HS community.

“Those who need to speak with someone should contact the Mobile Crisis Hotline: Dial 211 or (407) 839-HELP.”
