Here is when OCPS schools will be closed for Hurricane Ian

Class will be in session Tuesday, Sept. 27, but are canceled for Wednesday, Sept. 28, and Thursday, Sept. 29.

Although Orange County Public Schools has canceled after-school activities for Tuesday, Sept. 27, school will be in session.

Classes will be canceled for Wednesday, Sept. 28, and Thursday, Sept. 29, because of Hurricane Ian.

"Due to the forecasted potential impact on Orange County, beginning Tuesday, tomorrow, all after school extracurricular activities are canceled except for extended day, which will be open until 6 p.m.," OCPS officials said in a prepared statement. "Beginning on Wednesday, Sept. 28, all schools and facilities will be closed and extracurricular activities canceled through Thursday, Sept. 29."

County emergency management personnel will be hosting special needs and general population shelters in select schools. To see the list of shelters please visit ocfl.net
