Housekeeper wanted for jewelry heist

A Windermere family hired the suspect through care.com. Police say she then still $30,000 worth of jewelry.

Windermere Police Department detectives need the public’s help in locating t$30,000 worth of stolen pieces of jewelry, as well as the suspect they believe took them from a Windermere home.

According to police reports, the jewelry includes one diamond tennis bracelet; one cuff bracelet; two oval hoop earrings; a vintage pendant; an X ring; and pear earrings, valued at more than $30,000 total.

Detectives believe a care.com housekeeper, Shannon Hutchens, 34, stole the jewelry between Aug. 28 and Oct. 1. Hutchens currently is wanted for theft charges in Orange County.

Hutchens recently was evicted from her last known address in Apopka. She was last seen driving a white 2002 Chevrolet two-door sedan with Florida license plate 2899QU.
