Dang. Another week that's an absolute blur. We got to Monday, hit a greasy spot and here we are, the weekend, there on the horizon . . . so close I can smell it!

I spent a good bit of today down on Park Avenue, surely will be back there and then in Hannibal Square tomorrow and tomorrow night.

My morning started with coffee at Palmano's. I'll confess something which makes me WEIRD . . . and that is that I've had less than 20 -- probably 15 or so -- cups of coffee or coffee-type products in MY LIFE. Yep, it's true. Most of those were in Scotland in 2009, but all the Local ones seem to have been at Palmano's on Park Ave. Is it just me or is that the place people end up for impromptu meetings on Park Avenue, maybe in Winter Park. I've had numerous such meetings in the last year, and I can only think of a few other places they've occurred. It's a great place to meet casually, and I do LUV sitting on the sidewalk under the trees. THANKS to my fellow meetees, Debra Hendrickson and Erika Spence from the Chamber. I very much appreciated them making time for me in their morning!

Out on Park Avenue today one dress from Piazza Italia on Park Avenue really caught my eye! A huge peacock feather design, but not just that . . . very colorful, very graphic! It was fun and I had to get a pic. If you have peacock, owl, brick, Winter Park - specific merchandise, let me know. I LUV spotlighting things from the area, and will promote what I see . . . but if you've got something, I haven't, let me know!

The afternoon had me back at The Bistro, as Erika Boesch's 'Bistro Loft Shop' is now officially in business. Erika used to have Absolute Decor on Park Avenue and now has Bistro with her husband, Hugo. The front window is cute as it can be, but she's also go some great jewelry, American made candles by ......., scarves, art, and more upstairs in the Loft. Since the renovations it is seriously as if they've added square footage to the space, and I can tell you there's more to come.

Tonight I'm going to be brief, highlighting a few things you might consider for the weekend! If you want to be included in such in the future, just shoot me an e-mail at [email protected] or a message on facebook.

The Breakthrough Theater of Winter Park kicks off 'The Art of Murder' tomorrow night at 8 p.m. Another performance will follow on Saturday at the same time, with a matinee on Sunday at 3 p.m. Breakthrough is located at 419A West Fairbanks Avenue in Winter Park . . . great entertainment close by. For more info, check out the website: http://www.breakthroughtheatre.com .

Tomorrow night also Doggie Door on Park Avenue helps you enjoy the 'Dog Days of Summer' with a wine & beer tasting from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $40 at the door tomorrow evening and benefit greyhound rescue through the Sebastian Haul Fund. Come out for some fun for a great cause. You can also check out the new annex space next door, Unleashed. Get more info at 407-644-2969 or stop by the stores at 329 N. Park Ave.

Tuni on Park Avenue has a private event for their Warehouse Sale this evening, but tomorrow it opens to the public. I've heard good things about this event and if nothing else you need to stop by and check out the window display! As I discovered yesterday, it has the ability to improve an afternoon, just by seeing its clever, amusing presentation. See the accompanying photo for more info.

My schedule tomorrow evening includes partying it up with a gaggle of Winter Park High School grads in Hannibal Square. It's funny how some things get started, grow, and I'm excited they're welcoming of a non-WPHS grad who now LUVs Winter Park! If you're in the area, check it out. It could get crazay!

Short and sweat tonight . . . if was going to be, but it never quite works out that way!

Our 'Give A Dog A Home' tonight . . . sweet little Chickie from Poodle & Pooch Rescue. Chickie is a 7 lb puppy Shih Tzu girl. She is just a little sweet pea! Chickie is such a loving girl, enjoys being LUVed on and she doesn't mind giving that LUV right back to the lucky owner! Chickie is still a puppy so she should be in a home that understands how to teach a puppy basic skills such as right from wrong. She is a quick learner so she will do great. Chickie is a great with other dogs and she LUVs to play, play, play with them. In fact, when she is sleeping is when we could get the best pictures of her, otherwise she is on the move like any puppy is! She doesn't mind kids either. Chickie is heartworm negative, housetrained, vaccinated, spayed and microchipped Find more info and contact info on Chickie and other dogs on their website: http://www.poodleandpoochrescue.org .

On that subject, today on ILUVWinterPark.com I also helped spotlight a big adoption event at Woof Gang Bakery to take place on Saturday. This Saturday, August 25th, from 11am - 3pm Woof Gang Bakery Winter Park will host RAIN Pet Adoptions. They will be in store with a wide variety of dogs for adoption including Dachshund/Yorkie, Bichon, Cocker Poodles, Yorkies, Jack Russells, Boxer, Min Pin/Grey Hound Mix, Shihtzu, Terrier/Pug Mix, Wirehaired Terrier, Chi's, Lab Puppies, Wire Haired Dachsund, Pomeranian and more!
