In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, taxpayers and businesses have been granted an extension to the deadline for filing taxes.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin announced via Twitter Friday, March 20, that tax day is being delayed from April 15 to July 15.
“All taxpayers and businesses will have this additional time to file and make payments without interest or penalties,” Mnuchin tweeted.
Mnuchin added that he encourages all taxpayers who may have tax refunds to file now to get their money.
The decision allows people more time to prepare and pay their taxes. For more information, click here.
