Join the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce and Central Florida’s fashion elite in a toast to Harriett Lake on Thursday, Aug. 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Winter Park Welcome Center. Harriett’s Happy Hour presented by Orlando Health will offer a sneak peek at Park Avenue Fashion Week 2014 with cocktails, couture and fun photos with Harriett and her signature hats. Harriett’s Happy Hour is an exclusive preview event limited to 100 attendees. Individual tickets are $30 each. The Winter Park Chamber of Commerce will host an open panel titled "True Life: Small Business Stories of Challenges & Success" as part of their Small Business Education Series from 8 to 9 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 15, at the Winter Park Welcome Center. Panelists include: David Blumberg, serial entrepreneur and co-owner of Be On Park; Lambrine Macejewski, business manager and partner, Cocina 214; and John Rife, III, owner, East End Market. Track Shack Presents the 22nd annual Celebration of Running 5K on Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Orlando Science Center in Loch Haven Park, located at 777 E. Princeton St. in Orlando. The Celebration of Running 5K is part of a month-long celebration (and sale) at Track Shack. This event kicks off the 37th anniversary for the store and is the first of six premier Orlando running and walking races known as the “Track Shack Running Series.” Paid entrants will receive a commemorative, gender-specific T-shirt; a finisher’s medal; ice-cold refreshments; Florida Hospital’s interactive health screenings and special prizes awarded to significant finishers at the end of the race. There will also be a Healthy 100 Kids' Run. Kids' runs are free for all children. Distances range from 100 yards to one mile and children will be placed in age-appropriate groups. The first 125 registered participants will receive a T-shirt. The 3.1-mile race starts at 7:30 a.m., the Healthy 100 Kids’ Run starts at 8:45 a.m. and the 5K awards ceremony begins at 9 a.m. Proceeds benefit the Science Center through the Track Shack Foundation. Watch a ballet performance nearly 50-years-old on the big screen as the Enzian Theater hosts a broadcast of the 1966 performance of “Swan Lake” at the Vienna State Opera House at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16. General admission is $20. For more information, visit enzian.org

Take part in a Vegetable Gardening in Central Florida class from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, at the Maitland Community Park Meeting Room. First GREEN Bank is hosting a school supply drive for A Gift for Teaching through Friday, Aug. 15. Bank customers and community members are encouraged to donate supplies such as markers, crayons, lose-leaf paper, glue sticks and colored pencils to help the area children and families. All supplies can be dropped off at the bank located at 862 S. Orlando Ave. in Winter Park. First Green Bank’s four other branches in Central Florida are also participating in a drive for schools in their areas.

Learn self-defense forms and get healthy at Tae Kwon Do classes at the Maitland Civic Center.
