A string of three straight losses finally broke for the UCF men’s basketball team Feb. 23, when the Knights (18-9, 8-5) downed Tulsa (14-13, 6-7) by a score of 83-75.

That win righted the Knights flagging conference play, helping them to hold onto their loose grip of third place in Conference USA heading into the final week of the regular season.

The Knights will need to up their scoring for their run into the postseason. In their win over Tulsa, the Knights had a rare off night at the basket and came out on top. They shot 42.3 percent overall, and only 36.4 percent from the three-point line.

Looking to see the Knights one more time before the playoffs? They’re taking on C-USA leader No. 19 Memphis (24-3, 13-0) for the second time this season. The last time they met, on Feb. 13 in Memphis, the Knights lost 93-71.

This time the Knights have the advantage of their own court as that tips off at 1 p.m. March 2.

The Tars men’s basketball team was in a tie for third place in the Sunshine State Conference rankings after a loss to St. Leo Feb. 23. Now the Tars (17-7, 9-5) are heading into the conference tournament in Kissimmee looking to build momentum. They’ll have one more game before they get there though, traveling to Florida Southern for a 7:30 p.m. March 2 tipoff before the SSC Tournament.
