Local organizations are coming together for a good cause.

PhatAsh Bakes and the Apopka Run Club are helping to host a shoe and sock drive for Matthew's Hope.

Residents are being asked to bring a pair of gently used running shoes and a pair of new socks to receive a free PhatAsh Bakes cookie in return.

The baking company has donated 75 cookies to help the nonprofit.

Matthew's Hope is in need of men's, women's and children's shoes.

The organizations are accepting donations through 6 p.m. Saturday, April 9.

Those who wish to help can drop donations off at Propagate Social House at 40 E. 5th St. in Apopka.
