Man shot during Windermere home invasion

Orange County Deputies say a 19-year-old man is in the hospital after having undergone surgery for a gunshot wound in his abdomen.

The man was injured at an apartment complex named The Retreat at Windermere on Nature View Drive during an armed home invasion that occurred at approximately 10:22 p.m. Tuesday, according to a press release.

The man, who deputies have not identified, was at home with his roommate when they answered a knock at the door and masked suspects barged in and demanded cash and drugs, the press release states. During the ensuing struggle, and the victim was shot once in the abdomen.
