MLB sluggers speaks at Windermere Little League

Windermere Little League celebrated its opening day on Saturday, March 7, at George W. Bailey Baseball Complex with fun and games — and a pep talk from former Tampa Bay Rays star Carlos Pena.

Pena spent time in the Major Leagues with the Rays, Oakland Athletics, Detroit Tigers, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Houston Astros and Kansas City Royals.

The first baseman earned an All-Star selection in 2009 and appeared in 18 games with Texas this past season. Pena hit .232 with 286 home runs and 818 RBIs in 1,493 career games.
