A future local high school — located at 10393 Seidel Rd. in Winter Garden — is looking for a new name, and principal Laura Beusse is hoping to get help from those in the community.

At the moment the school — which will consist of grade levels 9-12 — is simply referred to as Site 113-H-W-4, but with its impending opening in 2021, the process of naming the school is just now ramping up.

In the survey sent out by Beusse, she lists a few helpful suggestions to take into account when figuring out a name — including the grade levels at the school, the historical or current name of the community or local area in which the school is located and the historical or geographical features of the community or local area where the school is located.

The deadline for name suggestion is today — Monday, Sept. 14 — but the top-five suggestions will be placed on a ballot that will be available in October. From there, the top-three names will be sent to OCPS for a final decision.

You can send in your suggestion today at https://bit.ly/2DYgA1d.
