Oakland collecting for toy drive

The town of Oakland is hosting its ninth annual Christmas Toy Drive, whichwill run through Monday, Dec. 16.

Collection boxes are set up at the police station, town hall, DG Doughnuts and 7-Eleven. Gift cards to toy stores or department stores are welcome, too.

Financial donations should be made by Dec. 13 to allow time to purchase the toys for distribution. Donations can be dropped off or can be mailed to the Oakland Police Department, P.O. Box 521, Oakland, FL  34760.
