In preparation for Hurricane Ian, free sandbags will be available inside Oakland Town Hall, 230 N. Tubb St., beginning at noon Monday, Sept. 26, and will continue to be available as necessary and as supplies last.  A maximum of 10 bags will be available for each town address from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The sandbags will be empty. The bag fill site at the intersection of Sadler Avenue and Cross Street will open at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, for residents who do not have fill material. The fill site will be unmanned, so residents are asked to bring their own shovel to fill their sandbags.

For information, call (407) 656-1117.
