Alice Christine Goodwin 

of taylor, alabama, died Oct. 20.

Mrs. Alice Christine Goodwin, of Taylor, Alabama, passed away at home Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015. She was 94.

Graveside services were held Oct. 24 at Ocoee Cemetery, with the Rev. Eric McCrea officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva, Alabama, directing.

Mrs. Goodwin was born Sept. 5, 1921, in Decatur, Alabama, to James Allen Alonzo Stricklin and Rosie Viola Tingle Stricklin. The family moved to West Orange County in the 1940s. Mrs. Goodwin was a resident of Tildenville for over 50 years before returning to Alabama after her husband, Eddie Charles Goodwin, passed away. She loved to crochet and read her Bible. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, Baptist by faith, and attended First Baptist Church of Oakland for many years.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Hollis Powell, six brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include a son, Randall (Laura) Goodwin, of Gotha, Florida; daughters, Joyce (Johnny) Flanigan, of Dothan, Doris Powell, of Coffee Springs, and Alice Goodwin, of Taylor; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
