Doris Jean Bristow, 82, of Haubstadt, passed away Thursday, Oct. 6, at her home. She was born Nov. 25, 1933, in Pope County, Ill. to the late Ertle and Tennie Bell (Neely) Scurlock.

She had a wonderful laugh that reflected her love of life and people. She loved to read, crochet, and talk. Her career from age 60 to 75 was companion and caretaker for "the elderly." Her family was her greatest treasure. She was known by all to have a huge heart that never stopped giving. We will miss you, Doris Jean!

Doris was preceded in death by her daughter, Billie Jean Kern; and sisters, Wanda Fike, Mary Parrish, and Betty Munsch.

She is survived by her daughters, Connie Bristow and Terri (Christopher) Sierra; son, Ricky Bristow; grandchildren, Jason (Amanda), Adam (Tara), Erik (Eboni), and Joshua (Chelsie) Kern, and Noah and Samuel Sierra; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Ferris; best friend of 60 years, Betty Sandoval; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
