James Cook, 80, of Ocoee, Florida, went to be with the Lord at his home at 1:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, surrounded by his family. He was born Sept. 11, 1937.

James graduated from Mayfield High School, Mayfield, Kentucky, and attended Freed-Hardeman and Murray state colleges. James served in the United States Army from 1961-63.

He was married to Elizabeth Woodson for 54 years, and they had a daughter, Donna, and a son, Terry. They moved to Ocoee, Florida, in 1969, and he worked for a construction company at Walt Disney World.

He owned several businesses, including Hurricane Battery Company and Bumble Bee Florist, and he was a process server until retirement.

For more than a decade, he coached the Little League District 14 Hawks and Twins teams. He was a member of the American Legion. He attended Ocoee Oaks United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Liz; daughter, Donna (Bill) Dollar, Ocoee; son, Terry (Debbie Insco), Knoxville, Tennessee; three grandsons, Scott William (Angel) Dollar, Palmyra, New York, Ryan Cook and Kevin Cook, of Apopka; one granddaughter, Diana (Brent) Patton, Gulf Port, Mississippi; three great-grandsons, Scotty (presenting serving in the United States Army), Dylan Dollar, Brent Patton Jr.; one great-granddaughter, Beth Patton; one brother, Carless (Sheryl) Cook, Lafayette, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
