MARIAN LaNELLE BAILEY LASSETER

DIED SUNDAY, NOV. 25, 2018.

Marian LaNelle Bailey Lasseter passed away on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018, at the age of 90.

La Nelle was born on Dec. 30, 1927, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to her parents, Miriam and Julius Bailey. She remained in Fitzgerald with her mother, father and younger brother, Edward, where she became an elementary school teacher and mother to her two daughters, Gwendolyn Bekemeyer (Fred) and Linda Yvonne Abernethy (Reggie).

Later, she moved away to build another life in Orlando, Florida, where she eventually met and married her second husband, Wilbur Lasseter (known to most as Hugh), who she remained with until his death in December of 2003.

It is through her marriage to Hugh that she gained three stepdaughters, Joy Irene Lasseter, Linda Hart and Laura Liggett (Bob).

La Nelle is survived by her brother, five children, six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She loved to cook, read and play bridge with her friends.

We will all remember her biscuits, pound cake, fruit cake, homemade cupcakes in the freezer any time you wanted one and the calming Southern environment she created. Her home was always warm and inviting to anyone who came for a visit.

The family had a visitation in Winter Garden for family and friends at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home. A graveside service was held at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia. Arrangements entrusted to Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, Winter Garden. baldwinfairchildwintergarden.com.
