West Orange 31, Apopka 27

The upset-victory that sent reverberations around Central Florida improved the Warriors to 4-4 overall and 1-1 in the district.

Winter Park 54, University (Orlando) 0

The Wildcats ran all over the Cougars and improved to 8-0 on their Homecoming night. Winter Park is also now 3-0 in its district.

 

Dr. Phillips 35, Freedom 8

The Panthers (5-2) bounce back after a pair of losses and improve to 2-0 in the district with ease. BeSean McCray threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more.

 

Edgewater 27, Lake Minneola 26

The Eagles (6-1, 4-0 in district) nearly endured a big setback to their breakout season, just holding on for a win over the Hawks. 

 

Lake Howell 20, Ocoee 14

Knights falter in rain-soaked game on the road, drop to 1-7 and 1-4 in their district.

 

Bishop Moore 49, Tavares 6

The Hornets cruise past Tavares and improve to 6-1.

 

The First Academy 57, Trinity Prep 41

A wild shootout at Warden Stadium keeps the Royals (6-0) undefeated and drops the Saints to 3-2 on the season.

Foundation Academy 29, Jacksonville NFEI 8

The Lions (3-3) get three sacks from Warren Sapp II and Austin Mathis scored a touchdown in the victory.

 

Thursday games

Windermere Prep 47, Orangewood Christian 20

Lakers (6-0) score an important victory in the SSAC’s Coastal - Central Division. Orangewood falls to 4-2.

Legacy Charter 37, CFCA 0

Legacy (1-5) earns its first win of the season, while CFCA (1-5) continues to be plagued by injuries.
