At the beginning of the week the Ocoee High football team was looking at having to play two games in the span of just a few days, but that all changed Thursday — Oct. 8 — night when Orange County Public Schools announced via Twitter that the Knights' Friday night matchup against Celebration was canceled due to contact tracing at Celebration High School.

The Knights most recently defeated Evans on Monday night in a game that was pushed back a few days to give Evans players time to get ready after missing the first couple of weeks of the season due to positive cases of COVID-19 in the program.

This marks the sixth time this season that a game has been canceled for an Observer-area school, and it is the first game Ocoee has seen dropped from its schedule.

At the moment it is unknown whether or not the Knights will be able to make up the game at a later date.
