Tonight’s Ocoee City Commission meeting at 7:15 p.m. in City Hall will discuss 10 items. Three of those items are detailed below.

Item four requests commissioners to consider awarding a 12-month extension of emergency ambulance service to Rural Metro from Sept. 1, 2016, to Aug. 31, 2017. Rural Metro, part of the American Medical Response, provides services for Ocoee’s Fire Rescue Department. Rural Metro currently operates with no cost to the City of Ocoee, instead receiving financial compensation for their services from fees for service billings, collections and contractual agreements with insurance organizations. The initial agreement was for three years beginning Sept. 1, 2012, with two opportunities for 12-month extensions for a total of five years. If approved, this will be the final allowable extension.

Another item Commissioners will be considering is a bid to one of five potential contractors for the Lake Olympia Neighborhoods Reclaimed Water Retrofit Project. The lowest bid comes from DBE Management Inc. DBA DBE Utility Services for $576,429.50. The highest is from Stage Door II, Inc. for $925,550.39. All the bids include expenses for the materials, equipment, incidentals and labor necessary to complete the project.

Item 10 on tonight’s agenda concerns the appointment of five regular members for a Charter Review Commission, and two alternate members to fill in for regular members if absent from a Charter Review commission meeting. Charter Review Commissions review a city’s charter, which outlines the policies for a city. Each regular member must be approved for a one-year term by a majority vote from the Commission.
