Ocoee commissioners will vote on a proposed ordinance regarding a 7.11-acre vacant property named the Darren Center Planned Unit Development, which is located on the north side of West Colonial Drive, east of Blackwood Avenue and west of Clarke Road. The ordinance, if approved, would allow for the annexation, rezoning and future land use change requested by the applicant, who aims to build a two-story medical and professional use office building measuring 30,400 square feet (including ground and upper level).

Ocoee leaders will also pass a final vote on a proposed ordinance involving a 5.45-acre property at 2082 West Road, which is situated on the south side of West Road, approximately 400 feet east of the West Road/Ocoee-Apopka Road intersection. The site currently contains a single-family house, which will be removed to make way for the land owner's future development plans. If the ordinance is approved, it would permit the annexation of the property into Ocoee, rezone the land from Orange County Agriculture to Ocoee Planned Unit Development (PUD) and amend the future land use plan from low-density residential to commercial. The owner intends to construct a 12,989-square-foot daycare and pre-K center for 150 children ranging in ages from six weeks to five years old. Access to the site would be via West Road.

Any residents with questions or concerns may contact Ocoee City Hall at (407) 905-3100.
