Ocoee crash kills pedestrian

OCOEE -- A driver struck and killed a pedestrian early this morning, with Ocoee Police Department personnel responding at 4:24 to West Colonial Drive (State Road 50) near the intersection with Marshall Farms Road.

Officials declared the pedestrian dead once they arrived on site. No other injuries were reported.

The involved driver is cooperating with investigators, with the case in the hands of the Traffic Homicide Unit.

West Colonial Drive has been closed from Florida's Turnpike to its intersection with Maguire Road. The exit ramp from Florida's Turnpike was also closed. Officials expected roads to reopen by 9 a.m.
