An Ocoee Elementary student has been selected to perform in the Florida Elementary Music Educators Association's 2019 Regional Honor Choir and ORFF Ensemble Festival.

On Nov. 2, fifth-grader Elias Jett Keen will spend the day with other choir students from elementary schools through Central Florida at the University of South Florida as they work with Grammy winner Dr. Jeffery Redding, who is also the choir director at West Orange High School. Students also will learn from Lisa Hewitt, who is the president of the American Orff-Schulwerk Organization.

After spending a day of workshops with professionals, the students will get to perform in the USF Concert Hall, which is one of the most acoustically advanced concert halls in the southeast United States.
