ORLANDO  Florida Highway Patrol officials are investigating a fatal collision involving an Ocoee motorcyclist at the junction of South John Young Parkway and State Road 528.

Aaron Morrison, 27, was riding south at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 15 on John Young Boulevard while another motorcyclist was traveling north on that road.

As the motorcycles entered an entrance ramp to eastbound State Road 528, Morrison drove directly into the path of his counterpart, a 21-year-old Orlando man, according to FHP reports. The motorcycles collided, causing both to be ejected from their vehicles.

The crash left Morrison, who was wearing a helmet, in serious condition at Orlando Regional Medical Center, where the other motorcyclist -- who was not wearing a helmet -- was pronounced dead.

Charges are pending.
