Ocoee police catch car burglars at Starke Lake Circle

The Ocoee Police Department dispatched officers to Starke Lake Circle after a caller said he saw two people ransacking his car.

OCOEE – Ocoee police officers caught two men suspected of burglarizing four cars Friday morning.

At about 5:50 a.m., a caller reported seeing two males suspects ransacking his car, which was parked in his driveway at Starke Lake Circle. 

The suspects reportedly ran from the scene, and Ocoee officers set up a perimeter. One of the suspects was found hiding in some bushes at a nearby house while the second suspect was found hiding in a nearby shed, according to a press release from the Ocoee Police Department.

Police found numerous pieces of what is believed to be stolen property inside the abandoned stolen vehicle that the suspects left in front of the caller's house after fleeing. Ocoee said they suspect some of the items may be from other burglaries, investigators are trying to locate the owners of the recovered property.

Four car burglaries were reported in the neighborhood, all of which are believed to have been committed by the two suspects, Ocoee police said. One juvenile suspect has been charged with loitering and prowling and the second adult suspect has been charged with auto theft and loitering and prowling.
