Ocoee police investigating Jan. 3 hit-and-run

The hit-and-run traffic crash involved a skateboarder, who died after being taken to the hospital.

The Ocoee Police Department is investigating a traffic crash that occurred around 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, at the intersection of First Street and Silver Star Road. Officers responded to the scene of the crash, which involved an unknown driver and an adult skateboarder.

According to police, the suspect vehicle fled the scene without stopping to render aid or provide information. The victim, whose identity is not being released until family is notified, was taken to Orlando Health - Health Central Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
