Ocoee police to host Teen Police Academy

The annual Teen Police Academy will teach teenagers about different law-enforcement topics.

The Ocoee Police Department is now accepting registration for its 2019 Teen Police Academy.

The academy will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, July 29, through Friday, Aug. 2, at High Point Church, 476 Ocoee Commerce Parkway. 

Teens will learn about numerous law-enforcement topics, including police helicopter (CHASE), crime scene investigation, active shooter/See Something Say Something, TASER training, criminal investigation, police equipment, Crimeline, traffic, SWAT and K-9 units.

Teens between the ages of 13 and 18 who have no felony or misdemeanor convictions are eligible. Teens must have transportation available.
