If Hurricane Matthew stays on its current track, it will make landfall in Brevard County early Friday morning, with wind speeds up to 145 miles per hour.
Starting Thursday night, Orange County could receive hurricane-force wind gusts of up to 90 miles per hour.
Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs has declared a state of local emergency to allow the county to support the community with extra resources.
Residents are asked not to drive on Orange County roads starting 6 p.m. Thursday. Once the storm passes, residents are also asked to stay off of the roads so the personnel can assess the damage.
Manufactured homes in Orange County are urged to evacuate, and Orange County Fire Rescue is currently going door to door, encouraging residents to seek shelter.
Starting at 8 p.m. Thursday, flights will not leave Orlando International Airport.
