DR. PHILLIPS  At Orchard Supply and Hardware, it's about more than just the nuts and bolts of a do-it-yourself project.

The new store — which opened Feb. 14 — is located on Turkey Lake Road, in a 33,000-square foot building that was once a K-Mart. Described on its Facebook grand-opening page as "the neighborhood destination with the best products and advice for your paint, home repair and backyard projects," the retailer combines the classic Lowe's-like hardware store with a DIY-project twist.

Along with hardware and tools, there is a "Work Bench" section, where customers can have screens repaired, knives sharpened, chains cut, locks re-keyed and pipes threaded, among other things. Additionally, they can peruse the store for lawn furniture, plants and more.

This is the fifth Florida location for the California-based chain, and the first for Central Florida. Other locations statewide include Coral Springs, Deerfield Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Weston-Sunrise. A Naples location is set to open Feb. 28.

Store hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. For more information, visit. www.osh.com
