Portillo’s sets opening date

You can grab a popular Chicago-style hot dog March 23.

Fast-casual chain Portillo’s is updating fans on a new grand opening date for its restaurant in The Village at O-Town West in Orlando. The big day is now March 23. The restaurant, which is at 7715 Palm Parkway, officially opens to the public at 10:30 a.m.

"Frankly, we just needed to give our buns more time to steam," said Michael Portillo, vice president of restaurant support. "Our team relishes the opportunity to serve our loyal Central Florida fans."

Once open, guests can expect to enjoy Portillo’s signature menu items such as Chicago-Style Hot Dogs, Famous Italian Beef Sandwiches, Char-Grilled Burgers and Portillo’s Famous Chocolate Cake. The 7,800-square-foot restaurant features double drive-thru lanes and two large covered outdoor patios. The interior features a diner theme, with an ode to rock’n’roll with an electric guitar ceiling installation.

To help launch the new restaurant, Portillo’s designed a limited-edition T-shirt for this location. Guests can register at to receive one of these shirts on opening day, while supplies last. Fans who sign up also receive a slice of Portillo’s homemade chocolate cake on their birthday.

The restaurant joins two other Florida Portillo’s, located in Tampa and Brandon.
